Nursery Admissions Policy

All admissions are considered on merit, in accordance with the policy described below. As an equal opportunities establishment, all applications will be treated equally, regardless of race, colour, gender or disability. Admission decisions will be made one term prior to admission, based on the best information available at the time.

* Whilst children will ideally be offered three terms at nursery, the length of time spent at the nursery will vary according to demand. The minimum age on admission will be three years.

* Late application requests will be considered individually, whenever places are available in the appropriate session according to age.

* Requests for transfers from other nurseries will be considered individually, whenever places are available in the appropriate session.

* Where the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available, priority will be given using the following criteria:

  1. Children living within Crowthorne Parish
  2. Children who have siblings in either school
  3. Children who have strong medical and social grounds, provided that adequate staffing provision can be made
  4. Children who have strong family connections with either school
  5. Preferred school is stated as either Broadmoor or Crowthorne CE
  6. By shortest distance from borders of the catchment area (as the crow flies)

Within these priority criteria, places will be allocated on a strict date of birth order.

* Criteria for late application to the nursery:

  1. Newly moved into the area
  2. Transfer from another State Nursery
  3. Applications will be considered following the criteria set for admission to the appropriate session according to age
