SWIMMING
It is reqired of the National curriculum that all children should be able to swim 25 metres bt the age of 11. In order for us to schieve this, every child is expected to attend the swimming lessons which are organised. These will take place on Tuesday mornings at a cost of £4 per session: without this voluntary contribution we will be unable to sustain this activity. Year 3 and Year 5 will be swimming this year, dates will be confirmed to the classes involved. Should any parents have any concerns about the financial implications, they should make an appointment with the school office.
SCHOOL DINNERS
There has been an increase in the cost of school dinners. A meal is £1.75 with a drink costing extra, please see attached menu.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
These will start next week ( unless otherwise stated ). We prefer children to be collected by an adult at the end of these clubs. If this is not possible please notify the teacher in charge by letter. Separate letters will be issued for each event next week.
Monday - Dancenergy, £2.50 per child per session.
Tuesday - Football
Art and Craft ( Y2 & Y3 )
Wednesday - Cross Country ( starting 19th September )
Thursday - Choir (Y4,5,6 )
Friday - Rugby
Gardening
We would really like to encourage pupils to join the choir as we have visits to C.O.A.T.S. The Mother's Union and the Bracknell Forest Primary Carol Concert in December are already booked. Some children were discouraged by the very challenging ' Our World' lsat term and we hope that they will return and rekindle their enjoyment of singing.
TERM DATES
Please find attached to this newsletter the updated term dates for this academic year, please keep this safe for future reference.
THE ZONE
The holiday club will be open during half term in October, when it is hoped that Planet Sport will be providing some of the activities. Should you require a place please advise the Zone/school office as soon as possible. It is also hoped that the club will be open on the 20th and the 21st of December and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th January. This will probably be dependant on the take up of places, so please book your places early so that staffing can be arranged.
CHILD MINDER WANTED FROM MONDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER.
A father is urgently looking for someone to look after his 9 year old daughter from 8 o'clock in the morning and after school until 4:00 or 4:30. Please speak to me if you feel you could help this parent.
BRIC-A-BRAC AND BAGS TO SCHOOL
On the 21st September there will be a sale at 3:00. Please send in your clothes, shoes, bed linen, curtains, towels, toiletries, crockery, books and toysto the school as soon as possible.
KICK START
This activity is used throughout the borough to encourage children to exercise and stimulate the heart and send blood coursing round their bodies and especially into the brain. this has shown to help children concentrate better and for longer. With this aim we will be trying to involve as many children as possible and the early morning sessions will be restarting Monday the 17th September, full details to follow.
FOUNDATION STAGE
There will be a meeting on Thursday 13th September specifically for parents of reception children but will include any parent of nursery children who would like to attend. This meeting will start at 7:30pm and parents should access the school through the main entrance. This is an opportunity to discuss your child's education in general terms, although specific problems are best addressed through individual appointments.
PARKING
I would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents that the school carpark is for staff and visitor use only. This along with considerate parking on the road outside the school entrance will help increase safety for the children. Your co-operation is appreciated.
Yours sincerely
